November is upon us!!!!
Whoa!! Somebody put the brakes on!! We can’t believe that November is almost here which means Christmas is literally around the corner… I know some ladies that have already finished their Christmas shopping and of course anyone that is making their own beautiful Christmas card creations have usually started the epic creative journey months ago but fear not!!! If like us you have not started creating your masterpieces yet, we have exciting news!!! OUR CLASSY CARD CLASSES ARE BACK!!!!! And November’s class is focused firmly on Christmas.
In fact, that is not our only exciting news! We are very happy to announce that we have three new members joining our creative team. All three ladies are extremely talented, friendly and obsessed with scrapbooking or cardmaking so without further ado we would like to introduce you to Michelle, Kerryn and Amanda.
Michelle Greed
My love of stamping/making cards began over 13 years ago. I started teaching way back in the year 2000 and would have to say I still love it just as much as ever did. Today it is even easier with the thousands of beautiful patterned papers but I do get into anything old/'yesteryear'/any construction whether off the page or little books.
I began scrapbooking as well back in 2002 and it too has taken over my life just as much. I especially love creating 'heritage' pages. I like to edge papers with ink and lots of shabby chic I guess. I am grateful for the many opportunities that have come my way as a result of loving these crafts and the fantastic friendships i have formed over the years. I do love to help people create and have fun, seeing their smiles and their sense of achievement.
Kerryn Leworthy
I have always explored different crafts and hobbies but scrapbooking is definitely my one true love. I have been scrapbooking for three years and am smitten with this craft that combines my love of photography with a creative, fun way of preserving my family's memories. I tend to use lots of patterned paper, chipboard, flowers and paint on my layouts and love trying new techniques and products.
I have been very fortunate to have had work published in magazines such as Scrapbooking Memories, Scrapbook Creations, For Keeps, Scrapbook Trends and Creating Keepsakes. I also won an honourable mention in last year's Scrapbooking Memories Masters which was very exciting. My kids love seeing themselves in print and my husband is very proud of his 'mag hag'... I think that's a good thing, right?
I am very excited to be part of the Scrapbooks Etc team and am honoured to be teaching alongside Brisbane 's best.
Amanda Hartmann
I have been scrapbooking for 7 years and can easily and proudly say that I have an enormous and ever-growing stash of things to feed my habit. I have my own scrap space and have always scrapped religiously on Friday nights, at Moonlighting or on my own. I really like to power scrap – to do as many layouts as possible as I can during a crop – to do this, I plan and prepare papers and layout ideas before I arrive at the crop.
I like Thickers, hand stitching and using clusters of interesting embellishments. I also enjoy the challenge of coordinating different patterned papers from different manufacturers.
I have been hanging around the crew at Scrapbooks Etc for a few years now, best known as the balloon race barger or the “Bingo winner”. It is an honour and a privilege to join the design team and I look forward to the challenge of creating layouts to share.
For my day job, I run my own business as a Speech Pathologist and am mother to 3 beautiful girls – who are the main subjects of my scrap pages.
November Classes
As we have new creative team members we also have some exciting new additions to our stable of classes this month. As mentioned earlier ‘Classy Cards’ is back and Michelle is our new card maker extraordinaire, she brings with her years of experience making cards and a passion for the hobby to match.
Kerryn will also be teaching her own monthly class ‘Take 2’, this will be a kit based class where you are shown how easy it is to stretch your supplies further by making two very different single layouts from the one kit. Knowing Kerryn, her ideas will be innovative and her class lots of fun. Kerryn’s work will also be featured in some of our other monthly classes such as Product Pick and Sketched! Amanda joins our Creative Team purely for her creative genius as at this stage she won’t be teaching any actual classes but you can see her work in our monthly specialty classes like Kerryn. You can also view Michelle, Kerryn’s and Amanda’s work around the store.

Create-A-Page
This month’s entries blew our mind!!!! All of the layouts were absolutely stunning! This kit was all white with the special requirement for the month being colours could be added providing they were pastel. It was an absolute shame to take down the pages once the voting slips were counted… we will certainly miss seeing them all lining the wall! However, for the next month we can appreciate all the work that went into Lisa McLeod’s beautiful page “Me’ as it framed and on display in store. Congratulations Lisa on winning Create-A-Page this month, your page is truly amazing!
There are still a couple of kits available for purchase for this months challenge - this time with a family feel.
New to the Shelves
A huge shipment of Bazzill cardstock has arrived! Lots of restocks. This is a great time to organise your Christmas cardstock supply!
Our Christmas section is exploding! Loads of new additions with paper and embellishments from Basic Grey, Imaginisce, Dream Street , Scrapware, Bo Bunny, My Mind’s Eye, Graphic 45 and Scrap FX.
Halloween is well represented too with lots of different papers to choose from. Love the ones from My Mind’s Eye - they are just so cute!!!!
We are also very happy to be carrying U Tucan Bind 12x12 Albums. These albums are 4-ringed, can store more layouts than a standard album and come in their very own slip in case. Single refills for the albums are also available.
If you haven’t called into the store yet this month, be sure to call by to check out Nikki’s front display. Her challenge this month was to use Halloween papers in a non-Halloween looking page and she excelled!!!! It is a gorgeous page of her gorgeous daughter Sam.
We are counting down the sleeps until Create-A-Weekend - 8 sleeps to go!!!!!! Yay!! We are excited!!! That means it’s only 8 more sleeps for our special Create-A-Weekend promotion too!!
